Unsure where to buy local produce and goods?

Check out: http://www.slowfoodpiedmont.org/lfgmarkets.htmlfor
a list of farmer’s markets, bakeries, restaurants, and more.

Also, right
down the road from campus, a year-round market provides mostly local produce,
meats, dairy products and more.  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Reynolda-Farm-Market/261370113529

At our Green Potlucks, we each bring a food that is “green” in
some way—from containing local and/or organic ingredients to using products we
purchased while biking to the grocery store. While in an ideal world we would be
able to buy all organic produce all the time, we sometimes do not have the
availability of organic products or the availability of funds with which to
purchase them. Sometimes it makes more sense to buy local foods grown with
minimal or no pesticides in order to reduce the carbon footprint of our
purchases and support local farmers. By combining conventionally grown foods
with organically grown foods, we are able to create more affordable “green”
dishes. The following lists will help you determine which foods you can buy
local and non-organic and which foods you should always buy organic.
